Art Journalling with Dyan.

Had a fabulous day with Dyan yesterday doing one of her Art Journal classes. We made some pages first using newspaper, glue and gesso. When they were dry it was time for the paint- yay!
Then it was time to "blind" pick an emotion from Dyan's basket of prompts and add images and journalling. I picked Passion (the page above is the result) and Calm (the page below)

Two journal pages and a work in progress

Well here are 2 more journal pages - sorry they are a bit soppy! LOL! All that red just called out "Hearts and flowers" to me.

I do love the colours on the "Song of the Sea" page but it's a bit bare and I feel it needs some more images - just still looking for the right ones to complete it. I've been looking for ages for some vintage seashells/mermaids, but not found them yet.

Thanks for looking x

Claudine Tag

This is one of the Tags I made at Dayan's class at Art from the Heart on Tuesday. Background is Claudine Hellmuth Paints and Tim Holtz stamps. Body is Blonde moments stamp used on sticky back canvass and painted with diluted Claudine Hellmuth paints. Wings and hat are grungeboard. DS not too happy that dungarees are painted pink when I've used his head! LOL!
I've promised to do him one with a blue pair. :-). x

Think Monday Think ATC

The talented Sarah left me a comment on my last post ( thank you so much!) and suggested that I might make an ATC for the Think Monday Think ATC challenge this week, since the theme is "Kings and Queens" - so I did!
Image is Lisa's Altered Arts again and my background is coloured with Brilliance Pearlescent Sky Blue Ink and Dusty Concord Distress Ink.
Below are a couple of more ATCs I made at the same time.

Tuesday Taggers Wall hanging challenge

The challenge this week on Tuesday Taggers, sponsored by The Craft Barn, is to make a Wall Hanging. I had some Queen images, downloaded from Lisa's Altered Art, to use in Dyan's challenge this week, so I thought I would use some more of them for this different challenge.
The plaques were cut from chipboard using Nestabilities and my Big Shot. I painted the background with Claudine Hellmuth paints and I edged the plaques with Stewart Gill paint.
Next I added some torn paper.
Then I stamped with Studio 490 and Tim Holtz stamps from Stampers Anonymous using Ranger Distress Inks.
Holes and eyelets set with my Crop-a-dile and Blonde Moments ribbon threaded through.

2 more Art Journal pages

Here are the next two pages that I finished. Although I have loved doing these I think that I will take more time with my next pages and try to plan them a bit more and get more layers on them. I definitely need to add some more depth, but have just been swept away by the whole thing - love it!
It's good to have your own "stuff" to use but at a workshop it's great to work with new things and things that you wouldn't even have thought to use.
I have a couple more pages to finish that I started on Tuesday. One has a theme but I haven't found the right images to go on it yet and the other one is just painted with no theme so I can have a good think about that one.
I do apologise if you don't enjoy Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" 'cos that bottom page might freak you out! LOL! x
