I've been tagged

I've been tagged by Sarah. Thank you Sarah.

You have to go to your fourth photo folder, choose the fourth photo and post it.

This is what I found - my little man playing at pirates - think he was trying to escape from Cap'n Mummy.

So now to tag 4 people:

Jeanette
Sarah-Jane
Siobhan
Elaine

Harrogate Show

I went to the Papercraft Show in Harrogate yesterday. I went for a look really, I didn't need anything, but a few things fell in to my shoping basket as you can see from above!

I had a great day and I met up with Jules for coffee a couple of times and I also met up for lunch and coffee with some of my lovely friends from UKS. It was absolutely brilliant.

I just need some time and energy to play with some of my stuff now - I am exhausted today and have a really busy week ahead. Never mind, it will soon be Easter and I can't wait to try out my Copic markers and my new stamps. Yay!

Inspired by Sarah B

Sarah
makes such beautful 3D projects and a short while ago she made a lovely file folder using one of the Timeless Templates on the Papertrey Ink website.
This is my effort, which is not as gorgeous as Sarah's I hasten to add, but I love how dinky it is!
These are so useful for so many things and it is the perfect size for storing Cuttlebug Embossing Folders.
I love it, and I'm going to make some more to store some cards in.

Jeannette's Jem Challenge

As you can see I decided to make a criss-cross card with the lovely items that Jeannette sent us all. I love the colours Jeannette, thank you.
I made my flowers with the Stampin' Up! 5 petal punch and my retro flower punch. Everything is from the goodies that Jeannette sent us except for my Adornit alphabet stickers used on the sentiment and a dab of gold stickles on the wings.
I also made the tab with the SU Tab punch.
I coloured the image with Chocolate Chip and So Saffron inks and the SU blender pen.
I can't wait to see what we have all made.
I shall be looking at everybody's later tonight because I am having a card making evening at my house tonight with some friends, so I'm not sure what time I'll finish.

Country cottage swap

This is for a swap on UKS. I do love making cards but I absolutely love altering things and I love vintage items and ephemera.
We had to alter a 6 x 6 inch cottage template for this swap and I am looking forward to seeing the cottage that I will be sent in return for this one.

Luckiest Mummy

Well I thought I would show you what my darling boy (aged 6) has made me for Mother's Day.
Here is the card he made me at school. The butterflies on the front are painted with finger prints.

And a hand sewn bookmark - I can't do stitching as neatly as that! LOL.

I can't think of anything that I would rather have - to me they are priceless and I shall treasure them forever.

Daddy also came up trumps by adding a bottle of Bollinger champagne which is very nice!

My (Little) Crafting Space

Here is my craft room. I love having my own space and I can close the door on the mess I make - although the photos were taken when the room was tidy I must admit that the place is usually a complete tip!
This used to be my son's room, but he has moved in to a bigger bedroom now. I was just going to move all my stuff in without decorating but my hubby persuaded me to have it decorated first and I am so grateful that he did - it wouldn't be the same sharing with lots of bright coloured stripes and stencilled pictures! LOL
Since these pictures I have added another expedit unit just inside the door but I still don't have enough storage space, so I think I shall have to do some serious sorting this year!

Two Awards

Well this week I have been lucky enough to have been given two awards from the lovely Sarah.

If you haven't already seen her blog do have a look, she makes the most fantastic things.

Thank you Sarah - I'd like to award them straight back to you (LOL), and to Jeannette, and Sarah-Jane, Jules and Bridgette.

Another Whiff of Joy Card

Here is the final card I have made with the lovely images that Steph sent for our team challenge.
I have used So Saffron paper and card, Lavender Lace card
and the Simply Said stamp set from SU.

Flowers are from my stash and the sentiment is hand written.

Thank you Steph, I've really enjoyed using these lovely images.

Thanks for looking. x

Something a bit different

This is a wall hanging that I made at a Crafty Individuals class last Autumn.

It is basically images stamped on to tissue paper and then stuck/sewn on to a piece of silk which I painted first using silk paints.

The whole thing is then embellished with buttons, beads, threads, flowers, painted lace and torn hand made papers.

Oh and there are some more paper beads on this too.

It's not the sort of thing that I would normally make but I really enjoyed doing it.

Paper Beads

I made some paper beads for this card using Haiku DSP - Just cut long triangles from the paper, glue the edges and roll around a cocktail stick.
Image is one of the Whiff of Joy girls that Steph sent for our team challenge.
Papers - Stampin' Up! Haiku
Ink - Chocolate Chip
Stamps - Circle of Friendship and Baroque Motifs
Flowers - various from my flower stash.

Very frosty this morning, had a quick trip to Leeds to buy the beads to mix in with the paper beads, but we have glorious sunshine at the moment.

I'll have to get my thinking cap on this weekend - I have to try and design a costume for my son to be Flat Stanley at school next Thursday- mmmmmm not sure about how to do it at the moment.
Have a great weekend

Julie's Jems challenge by Steph

This is a challenge that the members of Julie's Jems (our SU group) are taking part in every fortnight. It was the brainchild of Sarah - thank you Sarah- who suggested that one member should send a pack of the same stash to all the other members and we would each make a card without knowing what the others were doing. Then we would all post our projects on our blog at an agreed time and date.
Steph sent us our pack this time - and what a gorgeous selection there was, including 3 stamped images to pick from, flowers, buttons, papers, cardstock and those cute little paper heart strips, plus a sentiment. Thank you Steph, there were some lovely things in there.
I coloured the image with SU inks and a SU blender pen, I made a backing for the sentiment using my Star Punch, then just added a brad to the flowers and some Kaiser gems.
It's been really good fun and I can't wait for the next little package to come through my door!

Kristina Werner Colour Challenge

The Colours this week are Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White.
Cardstock, Inks and DSP Stampin' Up! and stamps are by Crafty Individuals and Paperartsy.
I really love the colours together.

Cards with Frames

I felt like working with some lovely soft colours today so I used these frames and butterflies from Craftwork Cards and used my Stampin' Pastels to highlight the flowers and paisley patterns.
The image stamped in the squares is from Pocket Silhouettes and then I added some Kaiser gems and a little glamour dust on the butterflies.

Papertrey Challenge

These are cards made for Steph and Kate's challenge on their fabulous Passion for Papertrey blog
The challenge is to make an A6 card using any papertrey product. I used the Black and White Basics Collection Sneak Peek Pieces because that's all I had to hand.
The white cardstock has been dotted with a cuttlebug folder but it's hard to see on these photos.
I then added some prima flowers, some ribbon and some rub-ons.

I've been frozen again today and they say it's going to get colder this week. Brrrrrr! Come on Spring!
